Inferi, Zombie & Me-Now!

Inferius (plural inferi): A corpse that is reanimated by a Dark Wizard’s
spell- a term that came to us from Harry Potter, the origins of which are
explained by JK Rowling in Pottermore!

Zombie: Similar to the Inferius in that they are also
reanimated dead, they have their origins in Haiti and parts of Africa. They
have been used widely in movies and texts mostly to aid horror!
Me-Now: Not dead so not reanimated but with a blank and
robotic existence on most days!

Does
it happen to others I wonder when they walk with determined steps to the
refrigerator, open it and stare hard at its contents till the music starts
playing to remind, that the door has been ajar for too long? Worse, the
reminder that got us out of the zombie stare still cannot get us to remember
what we want so we promptly shut the fridge and walk back to where we came
from, pick up something to do and Ah! We remember and hurry back- to forget all
over again! And what if I tell you with Me-Now it happens three to four times
before the process becomes a success- and this is just one example!

Am
I the odd one out, who wakes up and wonders how she is going to get past the
day and really tries super hard to muster all the will power to get that Me-Now
into robotic action mode? Me-Now even succeeds in doing all the tasks rather
admirably if you weigh it against that numb feeling of listlessness that gnaws
from awakening to shut eye time!
For
a person who is meditating and trying to bring mindfulness into every action
and to inaction too, it is disheartening when a few days pass off in a daze.
Music, books, writing, walks, conversations happen (the last with outward
animation as well) but the underlying stupor looms large! Is it depression, I
wonder or plain aimlessness or a bit of both? Is it lack of a career with
someone breathing down my neck and me running behind time trying desperately to
reach deadlines? No. I dismiss is it all. Not without thought though- in fact,
I have given it all ample consideration. I have blamed it on hormones (continue
to do so), on lack of direction, on need for expansion, on needing to let go of
the false sense of control and the truth is that it is indeed a mix of all of
the above.

Phases
come and go in life; some, it seems, take longer (monkey mind at work here) but
we are indeed expanding and I have realized the only good thing we can do
during these inferi/zombie/Me-Now days is to love ourselves and be kind to this
seemingly unproductive creature. Whenever we stop analyzing (a very difficult
proposition for an Aquarian) and just allow things to take their natural course
we get out of this flux sooner.

So,
those in the same boat as me please carry on floating zombie like but without
stress and resist the temptation to ignore “I am not a robot” – I even say “I
am” to pacify the robotic rebel in me as I click on it!

I take each day as it comes. These zombie like states are very common for me. And the people around are not of much help as i am unable to explain what I actually want!!! Ughhhhh..... It's a vicious circle. Loved what you wrote
ReplyDeleteTaking each day as it comes is the best way to be...as we have been often told, this too shall pass! Thank you Sandy!! ;)
DeleteWe all have our zombie moments! No reference to Halloween that just passed us by ;) Loved reading it... :)
