I DID IT!

I kept my word before we see 2025 off.   My previous blog “Before the year Ends”   https://www.musingswhileunlearning.com/2025/10/before-year-ends.html ) gives the background to this blog and I aver in it, to go on my first ever solo vacation for 2 nights and 3 days and I DID IT! I had promised to give you a detailed report in my subsequent blog (only this might be less of a blog and more of a novella), whatever be the outcome. Here is what happened the post blog of 29Oct25. I was excited and I kept mulling over different places I would like to go to, which were also safe for a lone woman traveller. I decided on the Rann of Kutch. My daughter was home on vacation and I gingerly put across my plan after making her read my blog. I was wondering what her reaction would be. She was working on ...

Before the Year Ends...

Photo by BoliviaInteligente on Unsplash   That one thing you must do before the year ends. Hey! Uber disciplined folks are welcome too. No discrimination here.   Two months to go! We cannot reverse time...

Heeding the Call of My Inner Child and that of my North Node. I belong to Kerala, as in both my parents and all my relatives hail from there. I was neither born nor brought up in God’s own country. I had the blessing of being an Indian first before associating myself with a state since my father served in the Indian Air Force and we pretty much lived a nomadic life, which I loved. However, we remained connected to our roots thanks to our bonding with our relatives whom we adored and still do. Summer holidays meant a trip to Kerala by train from no matter where we were. I feel the excitement of my childhood even as I type and have a huge smile on my face! The change in the soil and vegetation which was torturous to me back then because it was usually a lesson in geography, was one of the most beautiful and magical things about the train journey as I grew up and to this day, the excitement I feel on a train is unparalleled. As a kid I was closest to my maternal grandfather an...
