It is What it is!

Credits: musingswhileunlearning.com Acceptance, that all is as it should be, while diligently staying the course and following your inner guidance is the recipe for eternal happiness and well-being. Sometimes, it is as simple as that. It is what it is. In fact, it has always been like that but when circumstances are in our favour, who cares. No one wants to hear it when things are not too great either. We want what we want and when we want it. We are ready to put in the work. In fact, we have put in a lot of work so when we do not see results the way we expect them, we get frustrated. Worse, if someone less worthy (in our eyes) gets a lot of success, with what we see as mediocre work, we go through phases of anger and self-pity, anxiety and depression depending on many factors. But, it is what it is! It does not matter whether you disagree; whether you clench your fists and scream "unfair"- it is what it is! So, what now? Do we give up? No. We just accept things as they are....

Healing the Inner Child - 2

Image
When I had begun my inner child healing, it was all about identifying why certain things trigger me the way they do. The triggers keep coming up even now and as I have previously mentioned healing is a continual process. In the blog related to inner child healing  ( https://www.musingswhileunlearning.com/2020/04/healing-inner-child.html)  I talked about meditation and how to practice forgiveness. This blog is to try and give you an idea as how to encourage your inner child to grow and blossom without fear so that you can be free and get in touch with your authentic self. I had written another blog  ( https://www.musingswhileunlearning.com/2020/06/15-things-i-loved-in-my-early-years-and.html)  which took me down memory lane to identify the things I loved doing so that I may take up a few of those lost hobbies and get in touch with that part of myself again. To be really honest with you, I have reached a place where I hardly recognize myself anymore. Life do...

Altruistic or Codependent?

Image
Altruistic or Codependent, what are you? Does the question seem vague or as though it is an odd choice between two options which aren’t necessarily related? Think again. It was an eye-opener for me as well. In fact, the past two years or more have been such a roller coaster ride for me, in terms of spiritual growth if you’d like to call it that. I would describe it as a process that has shaken a lot of my core concepts making the “musingswhileunlearning” blog title a prophecy of sorts! Altruism is when you have selfless concern for another’s well-being. Your act of kindness, be it to a stranger or someone you know rises out of the pureness of your generous heart with no vested interest, even remotely. This was a term taught to me when I was in grade seven, by my father. He believed and still does in opening his heart out to anyone that might need it with no agenda underlying it. Being naturally inclined to be of service, this piece of wisdom has stayed with me since, allowing m...

2020: Taking Stock!

Image
Short of a month and a half later, we will be saying eager goodbyes to 2020 which has been a different year to say the least. A year that has shown the collective how vulnerable we are, despite our claims of being the most advanced species! If we thought our tribe was invincible, we just faced and continue to face a rude reminder of our limitations. Yet, the benign Universe gives us yet another chance to think more clearly and look at the larger picture. We can still stop disaster from wiping us clean off the surface of the Earth! With so many people having lost their jobs or earning nothing or pittance; with their livelihoods being threatened, it is time that we as a collective, down to the last man, understand the havoc we have been wreaking on this planet and mend our ways. This year has been a wonderful year for me and perhaps those wired like me who needed a lull in their lives to be able to go deep within to find answers. Not that I am not going bonkers like everybody else or t...

15 Things I Loved During My Early Years and Where They Stand Now!

Image
As a part of my inner child healing, which is something each and every one of us must do, as I have mentioned in an earlier blog for which the link is given here https://www.musingswhileunlearning.com/2020/04/healing-inner-child.html , I am trying to rake up as many memories from the past to be able to identify what made me and my imagination run wild and free- the things that filled me with wonder and came to me naturally, so that I may compare it to my present state and find out where and how so many limitations entered my free heart and mind. Once that is done, healing it would be relatively easy plus I just might find what I am looking for since all the answers we need are right inside of us! I am roping you in, my dear readers, to join me in this exploration and I hope it is interesting enough to be inspiring so that you begin your journey as well! Believe me, we all do need to take up this journey to rise up to our full potential! 1.   Collecting- A natural trait seen in mo...

Healing the Inner Child

When dark clouds surround us, like the current situation the world over- with this dreadful pandemic that has changed our lives, we tend to recollect our past, our good times and bad; our follies and our lost friendships; our loved ones who have passed on; those relationships that we'd rather keep under wraps  and important events that have dotted our journey. Today, I have reached a place in my life where I can see things from a different perspective- where all those clichés make sense. No, I do not claim to know it all but I am willing to delve deeper into issues that trigger unpleasant emotions. I need and I am ready for a cleanse from all things that stop me from being the person I am meant to be- and thus, I begin my inner child healing. My aim, with every piece that I write to share with an audience (including the light-hearted, frivolous ones), is laced with the hope that I might benefit even a single soul with my words while bringing solace to my own self. It is my...
